Security and The Elite System
  Go BACK To Last Link

Security companies across Australia use the Elite System to ensure that they are meeting their contractual obligations.

The typical use of the Elite System is to track the movements of guards and patrol officers as they attend locations at client sites.

Similarly, many commercial, retail and government organizations are demanding proof of service delivery from their security providers. Examples of this are the department of defence, most shopping centres, many city councils and a growing number of commercial property owners.

Applying The Elite System to Security

The typical application of the Elite System is to;
  • Glue iButtons™ to strategic locations that are to be patrolled.

  • Patrolling staff carry an XL Data Wand and touch it onto each iButton™ as they attend the location.

  • At the end of the shift (or when required), the data is extracted from the XL Data Wand and reports are generated.

  • The reports are used by internal staff to monitor their service delivery, and by the "end" client as proof of work done.

The end result of using the Elite System is an "electronic run sheet" that shows the attendances of staff at client sites.

Implementation "Tricks"

There are two main "tricks" with the Elite System that are based around the extraction and transmission of data. They can save you money and time.

Extraction: The way that data is extracted out of XL Data Wands gives our users simplicity and flexibility of operation that can save a considerable amount of time and money in many installations.

The key to this flexibility is that the XL Memory Unloader is battery operated. This means that data can be extracted on-site without the use of a PC or notebook computer.

For example - a roving supervisor can carry the XL Memory Unloader from site to site and unload each staff members wand in turn. The large memory capacity and long battery life make the XL Memory Unloader ideal for this.

The advantage of this, is that a supervisor does not need to carry a lap-top computer around and that the amount of equipment on site is drastically reduced, thereby saving a considerable amount of money.

Data Transmission: is the second big advantage of the Elite System. A small "franchise" or "licensee" site can install the Elite System, generate their own reports, and also send raw data back to a master or head office site for them to do reporting as well. The data integrity of the system and the ability of the data to be sent from site to site makes the Elite System ideal for this "dual reporting" operational mode.

Miscellaneous Items

Integrity of the Elite System is such that what is reported is what actually happened. This is due to the secure nature of the iButton™ and the design and in-built checks in the Elite System.

Simplicity of operation of the Elite System is a key and critical design philosophy. Security staff need to remain security staff - not become information technology experts. The Elite System has been designed to be as easy as possible to use. Please also see the section on  Making It Easier .

Diagnostics built into the Elite System provide a level of data security as well as a check on system integrity. Software is provided that allows users to keep a check on their equipment.
